LIN Dan stayed on course to win his second title of the year when he cruised to the final of the German Open in Mulheim in convincing fashion on Saturday.
The top seed and winner of the event in 2005, Lin Dan beat surprise semi-finalist Anup Sridhar of India 21-14, 21-12 in just 27 minutes.
Lin Dan won the Korea Open, the richest super series tournament with prize money of US$300,000 (RM1.05 million), in January.
The World No 1 Lin Dan was down to play compatriot Chen Yu in the final scheduled for late yesterday.
Chen Yu advanced to the title match when compatriot Wu Yunyong conceded a walkover after the former had won the first game 21-18 and was leading 5-2 in the second, due to injury.
It will be an all-Korea final in the men’s doubles between top seeds Jung Jae Sung-Lee Yong Dae and joint fifth seeds Lee Jae Jin-Hwang Ji Man. The match was also scheduled for late yesterday.
Jae Sung-Yong Dae beat Indonesia’s Sigit Budiarto-Fran Kurniawan 21-14, 21-12, while Jae Jin-Ji Man upset second seeds Albertus Susanto-Johan Hadi Kusuma, also of Indonesia, 21-16, 16-21, 21-16.
Both pairs had also played in the Korea Open final where Jae Sung-Yong Dae won the title.
